Conventions of a contents page

The contents page has page numbers so the reader knows what things are on each page. It also has an order to it by going downwards so it's easy for the reader to understand. The contents page also has headings to show the reader the different titles of whats in the magazine. There is also images to draw the readers attention and usually refers to matters in the magazine. The contents page is a page on information about what is inside the magazine.

Conventions of a college magazine

On the front cover of a college magazine it usually targets teachers because it is related to college/school matters. The title is big and bold so it stands out to the reader and so the reader knows what type of magazine it is and what the magazine is called. There is also a picture which links in with college/school so that the reader knows the type of things which will be inside the magazine. There is also subheadings so the reader can see what type of things are inside the magazine. The date is also at the bottom of the front cover so the reader can see from which date the magazine is from to see if it is new or old. There is also the website address for the magazine so the reader can go online and check out the website.

The Brief

Preliminary excercise using DTP and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student n medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally you must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of DTP.

Presentation of your Work
